THE FIRST THERAPEUTIC CLOTHING RANGE TO HELP WOMEN SUFFERING FROM HOT FLUSHES AND NIGHT SWEATS
|
DermaSilk® is a unique range of lightweight, knitted open weave undergarments which allows the free passage of air and moisture enabling the skin to breathe more easily and improve the temperature and moisture regulating qualities of the body.
The garments are made from hypoallergenic medical grade silk with a patented antimicrobial finish bonded permanently into the fabric to help control the bacteria and fungi that cause odour in garments.
The antimicrobial does not migrate from the silk on to the skin, it is odourless and colourless and maintains its activity throughout the garment’s life even after repeated washing (96% of its activity has been shown to remain after 50 machine washes). This keeps the garments fresh and comfortable over extended periods of time.
DermaSilk® helps regulate body temperature, remaining cool in the heat and providing insulation in the cold. It has a high capacity to absorb moisture – up to 30% of its own weight before it begins to feel damp, and can quickly eliminate this moisture whilst the skin remains comfortable. However, unlike many man-made synthetic fibres, DermaSilk® does not completely dry out the skin, maintaining a comfort barrier to prevent it from becoming damaged.
Whilst cotton maybe commonly recognised as the “natural” choice for people who sweat and overheat, it is a vegetable fibre and can only absorb about 10% of its own weight in moisture. This moisture is retained by the fibres and the garments then feel cold and damp which in turn causes the wearer to compensate for the loss in temperature by making the body shiver or sweat more.
DermaSilk® fits comfortably under most forms of clothing and because it regulates body temperature so well, it is ideal for those people suffering from hot flushes and night sweats.
DermaSilk® Therapeutic Clothing is available in a range of women’s vests, T-shirts, leggings, pants, and shorts.
