My experience of hot flushes - Simon, West Coker,UK
I was reading your article on the andropause (male menopause) the other day over the shoulder of my partner who is menopausal, and was interested to discover that having hot flushes is one of the symptoms along with disturbed sleep patterns.
As I work at night it is not too surprising I awake after 3 hours and find it difficult to get back to sleep; but waking up hot is a new experience for me over the past year. It feels like the heat is coming from the bed and I have to shift to the middle of the bed, and when that gets too hot, I move over to the far side (but only when my partner is not there of course!). I repeat this ritual several times until my body has cooled down sufficiently.
It is hardly serious when compared with other physical problems that ageing brings, but enough to make me uncomfortable and restless, and enough to make me wish to find some way of reducing its intensity. Contact
