Early menopause

Onset of early menopause - Deborah, Hook, UK

I find myself in a situation before my time. I have endometriosis and another growth, the name of which escapes me (but not cysts), around my womb. Having had a laporoscopy, hysteroscopy and a biopsy it is looking like I need a full hysterectomy! A bit of a shock as I'm only 43! My surgeon is seeing me again in 5 weeks time to discuss in more detail. But he has suggested I take HRT which I'm keen to explore. This is all new to me as I hadn't fully understood that surgery could have such an impact. I'm keen to talk to anyone who is or has been through anything similar - did you just go through the menopause or take HRT to prolong it? Contact Deborah
